December/January 2014 25 IHSA PROGRAM eCompliance Management Solu- tions has partnered with Ontario's Infrastructure Health and Safety Asso- ciation (IHSA) to launch a health and safety program. IHSA My Health and Safety Program is designed to reduce the administrative burden of complying with changing provincial regulations. The program consists of two online products that can be used either individually or together. The fi rst is a health and safety program essentials course that provides par- ticipants with the fundamentals of Ontario's health and safety system so they can build and maintain a safety program in accordance with the legis- lation. The second component is the online health and safety management system. It helps companies effectively manage many health and safety func- tions from a centralized location. It includes a step-by-step process to build a program that is compliant with provincial requirements and provides companies with web-based tools to better manage recurring safety pro- cesses, such as: managing documents; addressing corrective actions; moni- toring training requirements; and completing inspections on a mobile device. Because it is based on the 19 elements of the Certifi cate of Recog- nition (COR) program, the software can help companies organize their documentation for a COR audit. www.eCompliance.com. SAFETY PERSONALITY TEST TalentClick has introduced Safety Quotient (SQ), a behavioural assess- ment tool that helps identify the high-risk personality traits that lead to human error and preventable inci- dents. It measures fi ve core risk-related employee characteristics: resistance; anxiousness; irritability; distractibil- ity; and impulsiveness. The SQ has been proven to reduce workplace incidents by 25 per cent to 50 per cent for new hires, says TalentClick. The SQ is accessible online, takes less than 30 minutes to complete and generates a self-coaching report for participants and an employer report for hiring, training and coaching. Unlike other safety-based behav- ioural assessment tools, the Safety Quotient is the fi rst tool designed and validated to reduce incidents involving front-line workers operat- ing in industrial work environments. It was developed by a team of occupa- tional psychology and HR specialists. www.talentclick.com. SAFETYNET 9.0 Predictive Solutions has released version 9.0 of its SafetyNet software, used to predict and prevent workplace injuries. Several enhancements have been made within SafetyNet that make it easier for customers to turn their data into information that can be used across their work sites to predict and prevent workplace injuries, says Predictive Solutions. With this software release, users will have the ability to access SafetyNet via all the major Internet browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari on their computer, smartphone or tablet. This new release boasts enhanced safety analytics and reporting including trending and ad hoc analytics. Nearly all of the SafetyNet reports will now return information in a much more confi gurable grid-like format rather than the existing static HTML format. The new version includes more detailed prediction model feedback to ensure more focused preventive measures. SafetyNet now has a func- tionality that will support nearly unlimited levels of organizational hierarchy. It can support complex, multi-level organizations for more targeted analysis and communication. The software has been "re-skinned" with a slightly updated colour scheme and "look and feel" to bring the application in line with the latest theory around optimal user interface interaction. www.predictivesolutions.com LOCKOUT/TAGOUT Field ID has launched a lockout/tagout module designed to help safeguard workers with digital lockout/tagout procedures. Safety managers can now use Field ID on the web, smart- phones and tablets to control lockout/ tagout procedures and ensure equip- ment, machinery and energy sources are properly locked out prior to any required servicing or maintenance. With Field ID, safety managers can author specifi c lockout/tagout proce- dures to be followed by employees and ensure hazardous energy sources are discharged in their proper sequence. A smartphone or tablet with Field ID can guide employees through the process until proper lockout is com- plete and keep safety managers up to date on critical safety statuses, says the manufacturer. Field ID developedcthe lockout/tagout feature drawing on decades of expertise in lockout solutions offered by Master Lock Company. Field ID combines web- based and mobile technologies with the power of electronic identifi cation (RFID and barcodes) to improve the effi ciency, reliability and reporting of workplace safety management. Man- ufacturers, distributors, third-party inspectors and end users worldwide use Field ID to inspect facilities and equipment, conduct job site audits, manage corrective and preventive actions, improve training/certifi ca- tions management, and track assets such as cranes, slings and harnesses. www.fi eldid.com.
