Oliver Boots features chemical-resistant exteriors, Poron technology, Natureform wide pro- le steel-toe caps, Nanolite footbeds, premium leather and direct-attach construction — maximizing safety and comfort while reducing foot and leg fatigue. Oliver Boots are ideal for use in mining, oil and gas, manufacturing and construction industries. www.oliversafetyboots.com CONTAINING HAZARDS Air Science's new series of vented enclo- sures provide e ective containment of airborne particulates during manipula- tion and transfer of potent compounds. e company's in-house research sug- gests even slight modifications of enclosures can result in containment factors from the microgram down to the nanogram. The turbulent- free design utilizes environmentally friendly, ductless technology in com- bination with carbon/HEPA ltration to provide precise, safe containment in all applications, the company said. Ductless technology also makes instal- lation of dedicated workstations easy, as no additional HVAC design is required. Air Science vented enclosures feature: turbulent-free air ow pattern; custom sizes to meet every need; specialized HEPA- lter technology for increased safety; ductless design for increased location possibilities; and easy-to- change ltration system. www.airscience.com REDESIGNED HELMET Gateway Safety's new redesigned Ser- pent safety helmet now includes a new, unvented Class E model and comes in several new colours. e new Class E model gives users an unvented option that provides good electrical insulation for a wide range of environments, said Matthew Love, vice-president of Gate- way Safety. Many of the original features of the Serpent that have helped make compliance easier for employers have been maintained, the company said. ese include a rotating ratchet adjust- ment system (pin-lock also available); TANGO WITH TOXIC GASES Industrial Sci- entific's Tango TX1 single gas monitor detects carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), su l f u r d i ox - ide (SO2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). Tango features a three- year runtime and patent pending DualSense Technology, which increases worker safety regardless of bump test frequency, while reducing overall main- tenance costs, the company said. Its patent pending DualSense Technology includes two of the same type of sensor for detecting a single gas. e two sensor readings are processed through a proprietary algorithm and displayed as a single reading to the user. DualSense Technology was developed to address the major challenge of making sure workers are always using fully function- ing, reliable instruments in the eld, the company said. Tango uses one replace- able 2/3 AA lithium battery, which can power it continuously for up to three years even if the instrument is being used in the optional "always on" mode. A er the battery can no longer support instrument life, it can be easily replaced for another three years of continuous operation, the company said. Its three- year instrument warranty, three-year carbon CO and H2S sensor warranty, and two-year warranty on the SO2 and NO2 sensors, makes Tango one of the most cost e ective instruments on the market, the company said. www.indsci.com/tango GAS MONITOR ON THE WALL e new CEA 288 is a wall-mounted infrared carbon dioxide gas analyzer with digital display readout contained in an extremely durable water and dust tight NEMA 4X enclosure. Ranges are available as low as in 0-10,000 ppm up to 100 per cent volume. e sample gas is continuously drawn into the unit through a built-in air pump. An external water and dust lter is also pro- vided. e unit includes user adjustable audio/visual alarm with contact relay and available with 0-1 VDC and 4-20 mA outputs. An optional data logger can be connected for download to PC with included so ware and cables. e CEA 288 is ideal for use in indoor air monitoring, food-related industries, breweries, mushroom growing, green- house horticulture, welding, office ventilation systems, cooling systems, hazardous environments, laboratory and research projects, and various other applications where carbon dioxide need to be monitored and/or controlled, the company said. www.ceainstr.com HOW FAR CAN YOU GET IN 3 SECONDS?
