CATERPILLAR , the world's largest construction and equipment manufacturer, is launching Cat Productivity, an easy-to-implement cloud- based application that provides its users with a complete overview of machine and jobsite production. The application is a data-rich tool that delivers consolidated and actionable site-level information. Cat Productivity will help its users analyze performance as well as improve productivity and increase profits. The new features of the product will help communicate and consolidate the user's performance metrics on a dashboard that provides rapid oversight of multiple jobs. The application offers a single, easy-to-read dashboard. Cat Productivity will be available mid-2020 and will help provide critical jobsite metrics, such as productivity, utilization and cost. Cat Productivity will also be able to provide key equipment performance data needed to optimize the potential of every asset. The application tracks and reports detailed information on what the machine is doing. The information is then accessible wherever the user is and can be accessed via web browsers on desktops or mobile devices. Its features include metrics such as truck identity, idle time, fuel burn, location, payload, load counts, total cycles, etc. The application offers in-depth analytics that aim to deliver a more sophisticated level of actionable insight to the user. Cat Productivity aims to improve machine efficiency, productivity and utilization. The latest version of the application has expanded and will now cover a broader range of new and previous-model Cat machines. BCCA introducing 'cool or tool' app As part of its ongoing efforts to address bullying, hazing and harassment on British Columbia's construction worksites, the BC Construction Association (BCCA) has launched a new Builders Code Crew Training App to help construction workers recognize the difference between "cool or tool" behaviour on the worksite. The app shows animated construction tools in workplace scenarios that depict either model behaviour or actions that compromise safety and productivity. Workers are asked to identify the type of behaviour or actions in the scenario and are then provided with the correct response and a message that reinforces the appropriate action. The app tackles hazing, gender bias, abusive language, exclusion, non-consensual touching and patronizing behaviour.
