The patented, moisture-wicking Polartec Power Dry FR fabric guarantees fast-drying so workers stay cool in the heat. The shirts have an extra-long hem with fl at- lock seam construction and a tagless neckline that eliminates chaffi ng and itch, and ensures comfort and functionality in any environment. Decreased fabric weight combined with an increased arc rating makes this the perfect CAT 2 work shirt, says the manufacturer. Made in Canada, the Power Dry FR Dual Hazard long sleeve shirt is available in navy, tan and hi-vis orange. www.dragonwear.com VENTED COVERALL The Big Bill Flashtrap Vented Coverall aims to improve wearer comfort without sacrifi cing pro- tection for both fl ash fi re and arc fl ash exposures. Vented traps, located on the back of both knees, allow cooler air into the coverall, pushing warmer air up through the upper back and out the side air vents. Upper back vented traps allow the hot air to be pushed out- ward, exiting the coverall, keeping workers cool. These vented traps are made with FR mesh and are specially designed using a double layer of folded fabric that does not expose the skin. No debris can enter the coverall, says Big Bill. The coveralls have a concealed Nomex taped two-way zipper, snap front closure and lots of pockets, including two large double stitched back pockets and two slash pockets at the waist. www.bigbill.com WELDING JACKET Magid is expanding its clothing line to include a fl ame resistant weld- ing jacket. The Magid FR welding jacket features ANSI Cut Level 4 sleeves and a breathable FR mesh back panel to help prevent heat exhaustion. The FR mesh material provides protection while allowing body heat to escape so workers stay cool. As welding exposes workers to high temperature environments, this jacket solves the problem of protecting workers while keeping them comfortable so their work is not compromised or interrupted, says Magid. Manufac- tured in Illinois, the jacket includes para-aramid knit cuffs for a snug fi t with thumb holes to prevent the sleeves from riding up. It also includes leather re- inforced enclosed metal snap closures on the front placket for enhanced durability. The FR welding jacket is ideal for welding operations, assembly and metal fabrication. The jacket is not recommended for overhead welding or other applications where sparks and slag could get trapped in fl ame resistant mesh material. www.magidglove.com OHS PRODUCTS WIDE RANGE Brass Knuckle has introduced the SmartShell BKCR4599, a heavy-duty protective glove offer- ing wide-ranging protection for extreme jobs. The glove provides heavy-duty cut resistance, light oil and moisture resistance, non-tacky slip resistance and shock-absorb- ing impact protection. It is a high-end mechanic's glove that delivers ANSI Level 4 cut resistance in a very breathable, durable and fl exible glove. On the palm and fi ngers, the glove offers three layers of protection. The liner is an ultra high performance polyethylene (HPPE) and spandex composite that delivers strong cut resistance without bulk. Bonded to that fi rst layer is a gray polyurethane fabric topped with a grippy nitrile surface. In critical areas of the palm, padding provides impact resistance. The back of the hand features sonically welded thermoplas- tic rubber padding that easily counters workplace pounding and abrasion. www.brassknuckleprotection.com FOAM-LINED Gateway Safety has expanded its StarLite family and now offers a new foam-lined, anti-fog eyewear solution: Star- Lite Foampro. These safety glasses are lined with a soft, closed-cell foam to prevent dust and debris from getting into the eyes. StarLite Foampro fea- tures new OptiFit foam technology. It's a tapered foam, designed to provide a more tailored fi t and an improved seal around the eyes, says the manu- facturer. Foampro is available in a 1.5 and 2 bifocal MAG version as well. Foampro, with the same popu- lar look as the original StarLite, also offers superior style, says Gateway Safety. Instead of a stark black foam colour, which often produces a "raccoon-eye" look, Foampro's smooth foam is a soft grey. Foam- pro is a powerful anti-fog solution as well. Venting channels along the foam lining help with air circula- tion behind the lens, and all lens options include Gateway Safety's anti-fog coating. The lightweight glasses meet CSA Z94.3. www.GatewaySafety.com COMFORT ZONE Honeywell has launched the North Zone hard hat, fea- turing patented suspension, multiple adjustment points and a rear comfort cradle designed to fi t everyone's comfort zone. The North Zone hard hat makes it easy for nearly any worker to have a comfortable, personalized fi t along with the reliable impact protection. A custom fi t is achieved by adjusting the easy fi t headband for height. The macro size headband allows selection of small, medium/ large or extra-large circumference and the easy grip ratchet enables precise tensioning. The hat also fea- tures a top-of-head comfort pad and a removable rear comfort cradle, which maximizes retention and eliminates the need to over tighten the suspension. Together, these features also deliver excellent balance, eliminating the discomfort, distraction and risk of an off-balance or top-heavy fi t, says Honeywell. Avail- able in 17 popular colours, it features four large areas for custom branding and images. The hard hat meets CSA Z94.1 2015 Type I, Class C, G and E standards. www.honeywellsafety.com TECHNOLOGY SITEDOCS SiteDocs is a digital safety man- agement system that allows users to move their entire safety program from paper, clipboards and fi ling cabinets to tablets, phones and the web. Safety managers can add specifi c locations and work- ers to their account and create digital versions of all safety documents. From the job site, workers can login to the SiteD- ocs app on their mobile device and view or complete all necessary safety documentation. The forms they sign are instantly uploaded to the company's Sit- eDocs account and are automatically organized for instant and easy access at head offi ce. Whether the safety professional is on the job site fi lling out forms or in the offi ce managing and monitoring the safety program, SiteDocs will save time and help main- tain the highest standard of safety possible, says the manufacturer. www.sitedocs.com SOLOPROTECT SoloProtect is a lone worker safety solution that encompasses a fully managed service for mobile workers. It combines a dedicated lone worker emergency communication device (Identicom) with professional monitoring by SecurTek. Uniquely styled as an ID badge, Identicom is easy to wear and discreet to use. Equipped with a GSM mobile SIM chip, each device has unlimited North American cov- erage with no additional wireless phone bill. Each device has GPS for emergency response location identifi cation and one- and two-way voice com- munications with automatic evidence-based voice recording. As an option, devices can be enabled with non-emergency Ready2Talk two-way voice calls and Auto Man Down emergency alerts. SecurTek is owned by a Crown corporation and a telecom- munications company, SaskTel, and is held to the highest standards of corporate governance, privacy, confi dentiality, safety, security and employee welfare. www.soloprotect.com/ca MEETING MANAGEMENT VelocityEHS has released its new Safety Meetings product that makes it easier to sched- ule, record, track and report on important safety meeting information through a centralized platform. Fre- quent safety meetings have been shown to directly reduce the number of severe incidents and injuries in the workplace; however, co-ordinating these meet- ings, especially in organizations where employees are spread out across departments, work shifts, facili- ties, cities and continents, is challenging. With the cloud-based Safety Meetings, schedules, topics, agen- das, minutes, roles and responsibilities, action item statuses and all other documentation can be quickly recorded and housed in one centralized system and then instantly distributed to meeting attendees via email. The product allows safety managers to better ensure compliance with both internal policies and regulatory laws, says VelocityEHS. www.EHS.com
