33 2019 AUGUST/SEPTEMBER PRODUCTS & SERVICES ANSELL INTRODUCES GLOVE FOR ROTATING TOOL PROTECTION Ansell announces the launch of HyFlex 11-812, an innovative easy-tear glove designed specifically to reduce the risk of injuries when working with rotating tools. The glove is engineered to break apart at various high-risk areas, such as the palm, index finger and thumb, allowing workers to easily remove their hands in case of entanglement. Assembly line workers who use rotating tools daily run the risk of their gloves becoming entangled, which can result in crushed fingers or even amputation. For this reason, workers often perform these tasks with bare hands, which increases the risk of other injuries. The unique knitted design of HyFlex 11-812 ensures greater worker safety and compliance by enabling the glove to easily tear away and the worker to remove their hand should it become entangled in a tool, Ansell says. This glove's ultra-thin design provides the tactility needed for workers to grab even the smallest parts. In addition, the glove is made with ZONZ Comfort Fit Technology, which keeps workers' hands cool and comfortable as they work through various tasks. It is suitable for workers in multiple industries, including automotive, machinery and equipment, maintenance and metal fabrication. The glove complies with EN 388 and ANSI Abrasion Level 2 standards and is available in sizes six to 10. RUGGED CAT SMARTPHONES COMING TO CANADA In response to increasing demand for rugged devices, Lenbrook has announced that the CAT phone range will be available in Canada. All CAT phones are designed to keep working in tough environments and offer exceptional performance when needed most. "The CAT brand provides us with a rugged communications solution that we can offer to customers that are looking for longer battery life, thermal imaging technology or on-the-job tools such as laser measure, all built into a brand name that is world famous for durability and quality," said Ted Wiles, vice-president and general manager of Lenbrook Canada Solutions. The newest smartphone in the lineup, the CAT S61, has an even better thermal imaging camera, reading temperature up to 400 C and live streaming thermal video back to base. It boasts an indoor air quality monitor to alert workers to high levels of indoor air pollutants (VOCs) and it measures humidity levels. Plus, it is the world's first smartphone with an integrated laser-assisted distance measure. It also boasts world-leading IP68, Mil-Spec 810G rugged credentials: drop-proof up to 1.8 metres onto concrete; waterproof up to three metres for 60 minutes, including salt water; and resilient to vibration, sand, salt mist and dust. It also allows for wet-finger tracking and boasts glove-on working technology. CAT phones are built for individuals who work in demanding environments across a range of industries where their mobile phone is routinely exposed to stressful conditions. This includes construction, agriculture, transportation, manufacturing, logistics and field services. MOLDEX CREATES MOISTURIZING EARPLUGS Moldex has introduced Soothers foam earplugs that hydrate and moisturize for all-day comfort. Their tapered shape fits easily in the ear canal — even for smaller ears — allowing them to seal gently and snugly without uncomfortable pressure. The earplugs are made of extra soft, extra light foam and the outer surface of the earplug is smooth, so it doesn't irritate the ear canal. According to Moldex, Soothers are the perfect earplugs for people who complain about dry, irritated or itchy ear canals from using regular foam earplugs. The earplugs offer the highest noise reduction rating (NRR) of 33, making them suitable for most noisy environments. They are also 100-per- cent PVC-free for a greener alternative. SAFETYLINE LONE WORKER PARTNERS WITH GEOS RESPONSE SafetyLine Lone Worker announces the launch of two new product features. First, the SafetyLine Lone Worker mobile app will support the capability to pair with a Bluetooth panic button. The device is a small, compact Bluetooth wearable that can be placed on a lanyard, clip-on, pendant/keychain or wristband. When connected and active, the device can be used to trigger a panic emergency discretely by pressing and holding the button without having to unlock a smartphone to access the SafetyLine Lone Worker mobile app. The app will send the trigger for alert and GPS location and then will prompt for an open channel to record an audio message. In all these cases, there will also be indicators within the app that the status is in a panic emergency. In addition, Safetyline Lone Worker now has the capability to dispatch emergency service anywhere within 165 countries through a partnership with GEOS Response. If local emergency services are required, the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) will dispatch local emergency responders. The IERCC is staffed 24/7. "SafetyLine provides best-in-class lone-worker monitoring services, and we are delighted that we can now offer GEOS global search and rescue co-ordination services for our customers. We can now escalate emergencies to local emergency services in over 165 countries around the globe," said Gabriel Caldwell, CEO of SafetyLine Lone Worker.
